DIY Tank Top Dress

This dress took me less then an hour to make. You may have seen it on Pinterest.
I stumbled upon this blog, and decided to make it. In the past, one of my friends, Pauline, came in wearing this adorable dress. When I asked her about it, she said that she had made it. She called it a tank top dress.
I've been meaning to make it but it got put on the back burner. The other day, I stumbled upon the blog, got out my sewing machine, and put it together. It's easy, if you have any sewing expertise at all.

What do you need?

  1. Tank Top
  2. Material (Enough to wrap around you , with a little extra)
  3. Scissors
  4. A sewing machine
  5. Thread

What do you do?

1 Cut off the bottom half of the tank top. You want to measure it so there is about 2 inches past your bust line.

2. Next take the material and sew up the sides so it's like a big donut.

3. Then gather the material by sewing a line of VERY LONG stitches around the top and, then, pulling one of the threads so that it gathers.

4. Sew the inside of the gathered material to the inside of the tank top. (Right sides facing each other)

5.  AND FINALLY Hem the dress.

6. If you want to make a belt... Take the extra material, cut a strip and sew an seam where the good sides are facing each other. Turn the material inside out and sew down the ends.
