About the Blog

After, becoming a mom, my ministry changed. I went from being a school teacher to a stay at home mom. About this time, the Lord started giving me a heart for ladies ministry and it really felt like the blogging world was the way I was going to do it.

So, Rejoicing In The Present started soon after I had my baby boy, Avs.

What a doll baby.

We fell immediately in love with him.

Of course when you have a new baby, you don’t get much sleep. I really wasn’t feeling well for the first couple weeks until a situation happened that put EVERYTHING INTO PERSPECTIVE.

The wife of a friend of my husband’s was also expecting a baby. They were due to have a little girl very soon after us. About a week before we had our little boy we ran into them at a restaurant and talked for about 45 minutes. The moms-to-be talked about pregnancy and the dads-to-be talked about sports and whatever else. I was excited to think that our little babies could be friends.

About a week after I had my baby, they had their little girl and it just so happened that they named their baby girl, Avery (the same name as our son). I called Jeremy all excited.

Six days later, though we got the news that that little angel had passed away. My world stopped. I woke up and swallowed my tiredness. At least my baby was crying and keeping me up. It didn’t matter anymore that I got pooped and peed on, that I was staying up at night and that my life had completely changed. It was going that way because my little boy was alive and was able to poop and pee on me and keep me awake.

So my midwife came over and we were talking about the situation and she mentioned that how she liked that today was named present, because every day is a present.

AND THAT is how this blog came to be. I am trying to learn to rejoice in everyday. Enjoy every day with my hubby and babies and take every present and enjoy it.

Ps. 118:24 “ This is the day, which the Lord hath made. I WILL rejoice and be glad in it.” - Joy with Rejoicing in the Present

About the Team...

Rejoicing In The Present is a team effort. We have an awesome team of three and then many other contributors. Let's meet the team...

Joy is a very blessed stay-at-home mom with an amazingly godly husband named Jeremy and two sweet babies. Her husband is the student ministries director for their church. This means he works with all ages of children including teens. He loves his job and has such a heart for these kids.

Joy mainly takes care of the babies and the house but also does a lot of work with and for her husband's ministries as well.

On this website you will find her ramblings, hopefully some spiritually guidance, ideas on being a healthy, creative and thrifty wife, mom and homemaker AND links to other great blogs.

Brandy is also a stay-at-home mom. She is extremely crafty and an amazing cook. Brandy is the blessed mom of 4 adorable little girls and wife to hubby, Cicil.

Brandy has contributed some great ideas but recently joined the team. She blogs "Cooking With Brandy" and also contributing some crafty ideas as well.

You will enjoy all of her delicious recipes and fun ideas.

Last, but certainly not least, we have Janet. She is Joy's mother and the awesome editor and ghost writer of Rejoicing In The Present. She is wife to Bruce, loving mother of 5 children and a sweet grandmother to 16.
