A while back, a friend gave me a business card for this website and I tucked it away. Well today, I found that card and thought I would give it a look. Well, I am super excited to show you all this website. Mommy Market, is a website, that helps moms, buy and sell anything that has to do with babies and children. Its absolutely free and it's very easy to use.
Since Craigslist is a compilation of many products, it can be confusing and difficult to go through. This website, makes selling and buying very easy with a search engine geared to help you with specifics. Other websites cost to sell and you lose money in the exchange. So after looking through this website. I highly recommend it! The one draw back is that, they have only started it in Florida. I know it will grow but this would be mainly for Florida residents.
Below is a video about how to use the website. I will caution you, IT IS BORING, but check it out before you go to the website. It helps give you an overview of what they do.
I was raised in a great christian home by some amazing parents who had respect for our local hero's, the Police and Swat. I, however, did not really inherit that though. In fact, I sort of resented them. I had been fed into the worldly theory that they ate doughnut and gave out tickets to fill a quota.
Well soon after my husband and I moved down to Florida to work in the church we are presently in, the church had a law enforcement day. Then later on I got to know some of our now really good friends, the Bray's. Both the husband and spouse work for the police department and the husband was in charge of the swat. I rode in Amelia's car a few times *I was in the front :-)* and saw what she did. I also got to know a few other law enforcement families as well. Soon, I realized that were such amazing and courageous people.
These amazing people put their lives on the line, every day to protect us. They are human and have bad days, just like the rest of us. But, they risk their lives for ungrateful people like I once was.
I'm sure that you have seen the FBI shirts or the NYPD shirts or hats. Well have you ever seen swat clothing? Probably not, I don't think it even exists. Recently a few of the swat families got together and made this company, swat life. These shirts not only support the work that the swat does, but a majority of the proceeds go to help actual swat families that have needs. These shirts are great gifts and the proceeds go to a great cause.
Let's support them and have their backs...they have ours!
This is the cutest version of Jonah and the whale. If you have children or work with children, you will LOVE this clip. Enjoy this and rejoice in the present...
A good friend of mine, gave me this movie to watch, since I was going to read the book that the these same daughters wrote on purity. This is what I came away with...
Positives to this idea...
This movie is very thought provoking and I believe that it really brings a biblical perspective on what God intended for ladies; to be wives and mothers. I love how it pointed out, that these daughters were not sitting at home knitting, waiting for their husbands, but they were actively using their God-given talents to help their family and community.
The daughter is educated by the parents and educated to make her family the most successful that they can be. I do believe that this idea is the best situation in every home.
Looking at our culture...
The overwhelming majority in the USofA HOWEVER would not be able or would not care to put so much effort into this idea. In most families, both parents work outside the home and by the time they get home they are exhausted from the stress of their job. Thus, children are raised in the public school system and left to be trained by their teachers and daycare providers. When they get home, their homework, dinner and TV shows eat up the evening. This happens over and over again until we blink our eyes and they are heading to college (because we desire for them a career that will "help them have a good life.") Now I am not condemning any hard working parents, I am just asking them to think where this is going.
Think...Why are we put on this earth? When we leave, what will we leave? When we die, what will we have done to make the world a better place for our children, the next generation? The only unchanging, the only promising thing we can leave, that will make the world a better place, that will provide for our needs, that will carry us through any and all things is our heavenly Father, God. So is our job? our school system? our lifestyle? the Internet? the TV? or our family? leaving them God?
Negatives to this idea...
If both parents are not 100% committed to this idea, it will not work. Both parents must be on board training and preparing their children for their future life. . Mom must be teaching daughter how to cook, clean, do laundry, care for children, teach children, care for finances, show her how to shop and clip coupons, and then incorporate her talents into helping the family. She can teach her how to decorate, cut hair, and so much more. Dad must teach her how a husband should treat her, give her wisdom, have long relationship conversations (so dad can know what she is looking for in a man), and more. They both must teach her the Bible. Both parents must also be committed to educating their daughter through experiences and books and mostly TIME.
NOW, if a mom can not stay at home to teach her these things, it really is not possible. If dad does not have the time to sit down and talk for long periods of time with her and spend time showing her how a relationship should look (through his relationship with his wife) then this WILL NOT be successful.
Watch this whole movie with a open mind and open heart. Ask the Lord to search your family and see if you are doing the best you can for them. You may be exactly where you should be, but then again you may not be. Pray and search. - Rejoicing in the present.
Helping them find a HOPE is a not for profit charity that was started in the summer of 2011. This organization's main purpose is to help feed children physically as well as spiritually. After recently watching a documentary concerning the medical needs of Peruvian children, my heart sank. Seeing their innocent faces, their worried eyes, and their mangled clothing sent me over the edge. But how was I supposed to change any of that? Everyone always says God will never yell, He will only whisper; but at that moment in time I heard His voice more clearly than ever. I had to make a difference. I know that by myself I can do nothing, but with God I can truly impact a child, a family, even a whole community! I didn't even have time to worry because by that point God had already given me the plans. I would design a t-shirt and sell it for more than it was worth. The profit made would all be donated to another faithful serving organization that would take the donations and feed hungry children in third world countries. Dealing with money didn't seem to hard until I quickly found out I had to file for a 501c3 status, as well as file for legal incorporation under the state of Florida. I am currently obtaining a 501c3 status with the help of my faithful board members, Natasha Alfaya, JoAnn Edson, Joy Tyler, and Lynn Smith. I would also like to thank Cody for all of his technical support in designing this website. Without the help of these 5 wonderful volunteers and my Father up above this could not have been possible. Last but not least, I want to sincerely thank all of you who have helped support this charity.
Recently Jordyn DID obstain her 501c3 status and so she is officially a non-profit organization. She has been faithfully sending all the proceeds to an organization that feeds these children spiritually and physically. Jordyn has used her savings to start this organization and so all the money she gets from these t-shirt sales goes directly to these children. Please take the time to check out her website and support this program if you can. - rejoicing in the present - JT
Sharing the gospel is crucial in our lives and the lives of others. Think about if there is a sale at the our favorite mall, we have no problem texting our friends and letting them know about it. But when is the last time you shared the most important news? This is the most important news, why are we not getting it out.
There are so many ways the gospel can get out, through preaching, Bible studies, small groups, evangelism crusades, revivals, Vacation Bible Schools, house to house, our personal testimony, Bible story telling, Sunday School, missions, medical missions, fellowships, funerals, weddings, house dedications, baby dedications, and of course the Internet (blogs, facebook and so on).... leaving tracks at restaurants with your tip or in public bathrooms or even giving your cashier a track. There are so many ways to do it. Think, are you involved and if you are not how can you get involved.
Here is a different way that someone used sandart to tell the story of how creation, sin being brought into this world and then an escape from that sin through Jesus.
The gospel never changes only the method...What method are you using to get it out there?!?
