Teacher Appreciation Idea #4

Thanks again to Brandy for her awesome ideas. She actually made this gift from an idea she found on our blog a while back. This is something useful and yet sweet that your teacher can display in the classroom.

What you need:

1. Clear 8x10 frame
2. Scrapbook paper
3. Memo pad
4. Embellishments

What you do:

1. Place your 8x10 frame sideways, so that it is long instead of tall
2. Cut your scrapbook paper to fit in your 8x10 frame.
3. Glue our poem on top of the scrapbooking paper and place inside the frame.
4. Glue the memo pad on the far right side. (You can also you sticky's as well
5. Voila. Sweet, yet useful

Teachers plant the seeds of knowledge that will grow forever

What does the present include?

1. Sweet Note
2. Flower Cookies on a stick
3. Garden Gloves
4. Seeds
5. Flower Pot

What do you do?

1. Make a flowery sign that says "Teachers plant the seeds of knowledge that will grow forever."
2. Then place it in the flower pot along with the gloves, seeds and cookies
3. Your teacher will love this!

Teacher Appreciation Idea #2

WThanks to Brandy O and her adorable little girls, here is idea #2

Hands down you are the best teacher around!

What it includes:

1. Basket
2. Hand sanitizer
3. Hand soap

What you do:

1. Trace and cut out the shapes of your child's hands
2. Glue them all to the basket with sweet notes and one that says "Hands Down You Are the Best Teacher"
3. Place your "hand" stuff in the basket

Teacher Appreciation Week!

It's Teacher Appreciation Week and we need to bless teachers.  Baby A took a couple gifts to his Sunday School teachers.  We love that they give of their time and energy every week to love on and encourage our lil guy.

What we gave:
THEME:  "Our cup runneth over"

1. An encouraging letter. I wrote the above phrase and then a little letter of appreciation 
2. A coffee cup that said "God made you someone special".

Why we gave:

Proverbs 22:6 says "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." ...and this is the hard work that teachers do. This is one of the most criticized positions, but, just like their students, teachers need encouragement too! - Rejoicing in the present.

Cooking W/ Brandy: Hot Corn

Here is a yummy side to serve with some homemade pulled pork. (see previous blogs for pork recipe.)

What you need:

1. 2 cans whole corn (drained)
2. 1- 8oz package of of cream cheese (softened)
3. 1 can of green chilies
4. Salt and pepper to taste

What you do:

1. Mix all ingredients in a pot on the stove until well blended and warm
2. Enjoy!!!!

Baby Talk - A MUST SEE!

Baby A has conversations like this with us and I have to wonder what he is saying. This is so cute!. I hope it brightens your day.

It's a Vase????

I always have a problem finding the right vase for the flowers that I get. The openings are either to small or too large. Instead of using the "normal" glass or porcelain vase, explore your house and come up with some cute alternatives.

Here are some ideas:

1. Tea cup
1. Trim the stem low
2. You can use a variety of cups to spice it up.
2. Plastic water bottle
1. This is good especially at work, when you need a quick go-to vase.
2. You can also tie a piece of fabric or tulle around the bottle to hide the label.
3. Colored bottles
1. You can find these at yard sales or at a thrift shop.
4. Water glasses
1. This is an easy fix and you should have plenty in your kitchen.
5. Gourd or pumpkin
1. Hollow out the center and use it to house your fall flowers.
6. A light bulb
1. No joke! I found this idea on Pinterest
7. Mason Jar
1. This is especially cute during the fall.
8. ______________
1. Be creative; if an object has a mouth or an opening, there is a good chance you can use it as a vase.
